Man alleges State Farm failed to pay claim

Insurance 03

EDWARDSVILLE — A driver alleges his insurance company has failed to settle a claim following a 2016 crash.

Christopher White filed a complaint May 24 in the Madison County Circuit Court against State Farm Fire and Casualty Co., alleging it failed to pay an insurance claim.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 16, 2016, he was injured in a motor vehicle collision. At the time of the accident, White claims he had fully paid all premiums as required and alerted the company to the crash promptly.

The plaintiff alleges State Farm failed to respond to his demand for settlement and failed to arbitrate his uninsured motorist claim in a timely manner.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant for more than $50,000, plus costs of this lawsuit and all other relief deemed just and proper.

He is represented by Rodney D. Caffey and Ralph J. Mendelson of The Caffey Law Firm in Godfrey.
