EDWARDSVILLE — An estate representative claims nursing facility operators did not provide a resident proper care.

Charles Sethaler, as executor and representative of the estate of Norma Sethaler, deceased, filed a complaint May 18 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Bravo Care of Edwardsville Inc., doing business as Rosewood Care Center of Edwardsville, and others, alleging they violated the Nursing Home Care Act and the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between Oct. 13, 2016, and Jan. 9, 2017, Norma Sethaler was a resident at Rosewood Care Center of Edwardsville. The complaint alleges she sustained injuries including multiple pressure ulcers and an infection while at the facility, which caused and contributed to her death on Sept. 16, 2017.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants breached their duties to provide suitable and adequate medical, nursing and personal care to their residents, including the decedent.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants of more than $50,000 and other relief deemed proper and just.

He is represented by Craig J. Jensen and Elizabeth A. Parker of MeyerJensen PC in Alton.
