Woman sues driver, vehicle owner following Bethalto crash

Car accident 36

EDWARDSVILLE — A motorist claims she was injured in a Bethalto collision.

Rachel H. Roose filed a complaint on May 18 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Katelyn M. Miller and Shannon L. Miller, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 20, 2016, she was driving a 2013 Dodge Caravan north across the intersection of N. Bellwood and Erwin Plegge Boulevard in Bethalto when Katelyn Miller caused the Pontiac Aztec owned by Shannon Miller to collide with Roose's vehicle,

Roose claims she sustained severe and permanent injuries resulting in pain and suffering, loss of enjoyment of life and medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges Katelyn Miller negligently traveled at an excessive speed, failed to maintain careful lookout and failed to use every precaution to avoid collision. She also alleges Shannon Miller negligently entrusted his vehicle to a careless driver.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of not less than $50,000 and any further relief as the court may deem appropriate and just.

She is represented by Michael R. Wesley of Law Office of Michael R. Wesley LLC in Wood River.
