BELLEVILLE — A St. Clair County resident alleges a driver attempted a turn when it wasn't safe and caused a crash.
Carol J. Dawson filed a complaint May 11 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Margaret Mary M. Pauley alleging Pauley attempted to make a left turn even though it wasn't safe to do so.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 9, 2016, she was traveling west on U.S. 50 when the defendant, who was heading south on North Rieder Road, made a left turn in front of the plaintiff's vehicle and caused plaintiff to collide with the defendant's vehicle.
She claims she suffered severe and debilitating injuries and incurred more than $62,000 in medical expenses.
The plaintiff holds Pauley responsible because the defendant allegedly negligently operated her vehicle at an excessive speed, failed to keep a proper lookout and failed to sound a warning of her approach.
The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant for more than $50,000, plus court costs and all other relief deemed appropriate and just.
She is represented by James R. Cantalin and Brad L. Elkin of Brown & Crouppen PC in St. Louis.
