Car accident 05

EDWARDSVILLE — A man is suing a motorist for allegedly causing a Granite City collision.

Cora L. McMorris filed a complaint on April 27 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Gabriel J. Wood, alleging he failed to exercise due care and caution for the safety of others.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Oct. 23, 2016, she was traveling south on Mameoki Road approaching its intersection with Madison Avenue in Granite City when Wood collided with her vehicle.

McMorris claims she suffered severe, permanent and disabling injuries to her neck, back, nerves and muscles.

The plaintiff alleges Wood failed to keep proper lookout, failed to yield right of way and failed to maintain proper control of his vehicle.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of not less than $50,000, plus costs of this action.

She is represented by John T. Papa of Callis, Papa & Szewczyk PC in Granite City.
