EDWARDSVILLE — A driver claims she was injured in a Bethalto collision while attempting to turn into QuickTrip.
Katherine D. Jones filed a complaint on May 1 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Jeffrey R. Waters, alleging he breached his duty to exercise reasonable care in operating his vehicle.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 5, 2016, she was traveling south on Illinois Route 111 in Bethalto and was stopped to make a left turn into the QuickTrip parking lot when Waters struck the rear of her vehicle, causing her to suffer injuries.
Jones claims she suffered great pain and anguish, emotional distress, loss of income and medical expenses.
The plaintiff alleges Waters failed to keep proper lookout, carelessly to fast for the existing condition and failed to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in her favor in an amount in excess of $50,000 plus costs of court and any other relief that are proper and just.
She is represented by Kattie Hubbard of Goldenberg Heller & Antognoli PC in Edwardsville.
