Woman alleges injuries from rear-end collision in Belleville

Car accident 32

BELLEVILLE — A driver claims her vehicle was rear-ended in Belleville.

Lakesha Mayweather filed a complaint April 30 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Tameka R. Green, alleging she breached her duty to operate a vehicle in a careful and prudent manner.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 5, 2016, she was driving west on Route 161 near Frank Scott Parkway when the defendant rear-ended the plaintiff's vehicle.

Mayweather claims she experienced extensive injuries to her head, neck, back, body and limbs.

The plaintiff holds Green responsible because the defendant allegedly negligently operated her vehicle at an excessive rate of speed, failed to keep a proper lookout and didn't apply brakes to stop her vehicle.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant for more than $50,000, plus costs expended herein.

She is represented by John H. Hustava of John H. Hustava & Associates PC in Collinsville.
