Driver sues over 2016 Madison Avenue accident

Lawsuits

EDWARDSVILLE — A driver claims insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries during an accident nearly two years ago.

Pamela Church filed a complaint on April 26, in the Madison County Circuit Court alleging Billie Sanchez failed to maintain proper control of the vehicle she was driving.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 7, 2016, she was lawfully driving her vehicle traveling north on Madison Avenue when defendant negligently operated her vehicle and caused it to strike her vehicle. She suffered serious and permanent injuries to her right leg, ankle and foot, neck, back and head and incurred medical expenses of approximately $11,958.23, the suit claims. The plaintiff holds Sanchez responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to keep proper lookout, failed to yield right of way and failed to reduce speed to avoid collision.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in excess of $50,000, costs of court and any further relief that are proper and just. She is represented by Thomas G. Kemper of Butler & Kemper in Granite City.
