Lender claims Troy man didn't repay loan after he sold his home

EDWARDSVILLE — A lender is suing a Troy resident, claiming he didn't repay a loan.

Rick L. Jones filed a complaint April 2 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Bradley R. Jones alleging he violated the fundamental principles of justice, equity and good conscience.

According to the complaint, the defendant requested money from the plaintiff, and between April 19, 2013, and Aug. 4, 2014, the plaintiff loaned the defendant $97,500, with a promise to that he would pay back the money after he sold his home. The plaintiff holds Bradley Jones responsible because he allegedly failed to repay the loan after selling his home in May 2015 despite requests to do so.

The plaintiff seeks a judgment against the defendant in the amount of $97,500, plus costs and further relief. He is represented by William W. Asa of Taliana, Buckley & Asa in Edwardsville.
