Southside Holdings driver accused of being under the influence in crash

Car accident 33

EDWARDSVILLE — A motorist alleges a driver was under the influence when he caused a Madison County crash.

Jordan Clark filed a complaint March 27 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Scott G. Aulabaugh and Southside Holdings Inc., alleging Aulabaugh negligently operated Southside's 2007 Kia while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 14, he was driving a 2017 Chevrolet traveling northbound on Illinois Route 3 near its intersection with St. Thomas Road in Madison County when Aulabaugh suddenly crossed the median and struck Clark's vehicle.

Clark claims he sustained multiple injuries resulting in pain, discomfort, disfigurement, disability as well as lost wages and medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges Aulabaugh negligently failed to keep his vehicle on the roadway, failed to maintain a careful lookout and failed to take evasive actions at the first appearance of danger.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of not less than $50,000, plus costs of this action and any further relief that the court may deem just and proper.

He is represented by Alan G. Pirtle and Lisa Tsacoumangos of Brown & Crouppen PC in St. Louis.
