Motorist alleges injuries from Pontoon Beach collision

Car accident 40

EDWARDSVILLE — A motorist is suing another driver for allegedly failing to obey a traffic signal and causing a Pontoon Beach collision.

Renee J. Patterson filed a complaint on March 26 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Hannah M. Barker, alleging she breached her duty to drive her vehicle with due care for the safety of others.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 8, 2017, she was driving her vehicle eastbound at the intersection of Pontoon Road and Breckenridge Road in Pontoon Beach when Barker negligently entered the intersection and collided with her vehicle.

Patterson claims she sustained severe and permanent injuries to her body, resulting in medical expenses and great pain and suffering.

The plaintiff alleges Barker failed to obey a traffic signal, failed to maintain proper lookout and failed to take evasive actions to avoid a collision.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages in excess of $50,000, plus costs of this action.

She is represented by Brian M. Wendler, Angie Zinzilieta and Paul E. H. Rademacher of Wendler Law PC in Edwardsville.
