Man sues All State for unpaid benefits

Insurance 11

EDWARDSVILLE — Glen Carbon attorney William Fis suing his insurer for failing to cover his underinsured claim.

William F. Goddard filed a complaint on March 23 in the Madison County Circuit Court against The All State Corporation alleging it violated the covenant of good faith and fair dealing.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 24, 2016, he was injured in a vehicle collision with an underinsured motorist.

As a result, Goddard claims he sustained injuries and damages for which he attempted to negotiate a settlement of the underinsured claim with All State, but was unsuccessful.

The plaintiff alleges All State failed and refused to negotiate and/or pay the sum owed to the plaintiff without reasonable investigation.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages in a fair and reasonable amount, plus attorney's fees, costs of suit, and penalties and all further relief that the court may deem just and appropriate.

He is represented by D. Jeffrey Ezra of Ezra & Associates LLC in Collinsville.
