Driver, passenger sue over Troy collision

Car accident 07

EDWARDSVILLE — A driver and passenger allege they were injured in a Troy collision.

Aziza Mosi and Akilah Mosi filed a complaint on March 12 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Rachael Beckemeyer, alleging she failed to operate her vehicle in a reasonably safe fashion.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on May 17, 2016, Aziza Mosi and Akilah Mosi were traveling north on SRA Bradley R Smith Drive turning left west of Edwardsville Road in Troy when the defendant entered the intersection and collided with their vehicle.

As a result, the plaintiffs claim they suffered severe and permanent injuries to their necks, backs, heads, shoulders and spines.

The plaintiffs allege Beckemeyer failed to keep proper lookout, failed to yield right of way and failed to reduce speed or stop to avoid colliding with their vehicle.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendant in an amount of more than $50,000, plus costs expended herein.

They are represented by Bruce E. Mattea and William A. Boker III of The Mattea Law Firm in Collinsville.
