Mother, children allege injuries from Bethalto collision

EDWARDSVILLE — A mother and her children are suing a driver for allegedly entering the intersection and causing a Bethalto collision. 

Noemi Golden, individually and as mother and guardian of Kylee Golden and Shayna Golden, minors, filed a complaint March 15 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Charles Stegall, alleging he failed to operate his vehicle in a careful and prudent manner.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on April 25, 2016, they were in a 2015 Kia Soul driven traveling eastbound on Erwin Plegge Boulevard near Ashbrook Street in Bethalto. They claim the defendant entered the intersection and collided with their vehicle. 

As a result, the Goldens claim they sustained severe and permanent injuries their heads, necks, arms and shoulders. 

The plaintiffs allege Stegall failed to pay proper attention to traffic, failed to yield to the right of way and failed to stop to avoid a collision.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek damages of in an amount that is greater than $50,000, plus costs of this action.
