Woman sues over Granite City crash

Car accident 32

EDWARDSVILLE — A woman is suing another driver for allegedly causing a Granite City crash.

Judith Ann Steele filed a complaint March 15 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Jacob Dalton, alleging he breached his duty to operate a motor vehicle in a safe and reasonable manner.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 10, 2016, she was driving a 2004 Ford F-150 northbound on Illinois Route 203 near Bremen Avenue in Granite City when the defendant's vehicle collided with her vehicle.

As a result of the impact, Steele claims she was thrown with great force inside her vehicle and sustained injuries resulting in pain and anguish, lost the ability to earn wages and incurred medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges Dalton failed to maintain control of his vehicle, failed to keep a careful lookout and negligently turned his vehicle into the plaintiff's vehicle.

The plaintiff seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus costs of this suit.

She is represented by Randall P. Steele of Steele Law Offices LLC in Glen Carbon.
