BELLEVILLE — A woman is suing her mother, alleging she was injured when she slipped on a puppy pad and fell at the defendant's home.
Kathy Zarr filed a complaint on March 8 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Donalda Peggy Zarr, Donald Bassman and Motion Orthopedics LLC, alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Sept. 3, 2016, she was walking inside Donalda Zarr's residence when she slipped on a puppy pad and sustained injuries.
She claims she suffered permanent disfigurement when Bassman and Motion Orthopedics failed to reduce her ankle dislocation within the applicable standard.
As result, Kathy Zarr claims she became liable for large sums of monies for future medical expenses.
The plaintiff alleges Donalda Zarr failed to maintain her residence in a reasonably safe condition. She also alleges Bassman and Motion breached their duties to apply the knowledge and use the skills ordinarily used by a well qualified healthcare providers.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages in an amount greater than $50,000, plus court costs and any further relief as the court deems appropriate.
