Woman alleges injuries from Bethalto collision

Car accident 28

EDWARDSVILLE — A woman is suing a vehicle owner, the driver and the passenger following a Bethalto collision.

Brianna M. Johnson filed a complaint March 12 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Peggy L. Zimmerman, Travis Zimmerman and Rebekah B. Whyers, claiming they breached their duties to exercise due care for the safety of others.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 12, 2016, she was injured when her vehicle was struck by a vehicle driven by Whyers in Bethalto.

Johnson claims she sustained injuries that resulted in pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, lost wages, loss of earning capacity and property damage.

The plaintiff alleges Peggy Zimmerman negligently entrusted her vehicle to Whyers, who failed to maintain the vehicle under control. She also alleges Travis Zimmerman distracted Whyers while driving.

The plaintiff seeks a judgment against the defendants in excess of $50,000, costs of suit and all other relief deemed proper and just.

She is represented by Rodney D. Caffey and Ralph J. Mendelson of The Caffey Law Firm in Godfrey.
