American Express claims cardholder defaulted on $56,000 balance

EDWARDSVILLE — A credit card company is suing a cardholder, citing alleged breach of an account agreement.

American Express Bank FSB filed a complaint March 9 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Mary Prader, also known as Mary Kay Prader, alleging that she failed to perform her obligations under the agreement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges Prader, who lives in Edwardsville, established a credit account through the defendant, but failed to pay all charges that she made on that account. American Express alleges the balance due on the account is $56,226.65.

The company holds Prader responsible because she allegedly has defaulted on the account by failing to make payments under the terms of the agreement.

The plaintiff seeks a judgment against the defendant for $56,226.65, plus costs of this action,  and further relief as the court deems just and appropriate. It is represented by Myxuan McClure Koski and John M. Kienzle of Zwicker & Associates PC in Lincolnwood.
