First Mid-Illinois Bank accuses tenant of owing over $60,000 for rent

Late 03

EDWARDSVILLE — A financial institution is suing a tenant, citing alleged breach of a lease agreement.

First Mid-Illinois Bank & Trust NA, a successor by merger of First Clover Leaf Bank NA, filed a complaint March 8 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Preferred Partners LLC, doing business as Remax Preferred Partners, alleging the tenant failed to perform its contractual obligations.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 13, 2015, it entered into an agreement to lease the property to the defendant. As of Nov. 29, 2017, the defendant is accused of failing to pay $63,424.19 in rent.

The plaintiff holds Remax Preferred Partners responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to make payments in accordance with the agreements.

The plaintiff seeks payment for all rents due from March 23, 2017 through Nov. 29, 2017 for $63,424.19, plus interest, attorney's fees, costs, and further relief the court may deem proper and just. The bank is represented by Teri L. Havron of Goldenberg Heller & Antognoli PC in Edwardsville.
