Car accident 06

EDWARDSVILLE – An Edwardsville couple is seeking damages from another motorist after their vehicle was rear-ended on Illinois Highway 162.

John C. Haynes and Vivian E. Haynes filed a complaint on Feb. 28 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Jamie M. Pranaitis, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Dec. 9, 2016, they were in a motor vehicle traveling at the intersection of Illinois Highway 162 and Interstate 55/70 when the defendant struck the rear of their vehicle.

They allege they suffered injuries that resulted in pain, loss of normal life and medical expenses.

The plaintiffs allege Pranaitis carelessly drove her vehicle at an excessive speed, failed to maintain a careful lookout and failed to observe the yield sign on the roadway.

The plaintiffs seek damages of no less than $50,000, plus costs of this action.

They are represented by Jon E. Rosenstengel of Bonifield & Rosenstengel PC in Belleville.
