Driver alleges another motorist failed to yield in Bethalto collision

EDWARDSVILLE – A Madison County woman alleges another driver attempted to turn in front of her and caused a Bethalto crash.

April Cox filed a complaint on March 5 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Maisey Watson, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 28, 2017, she was traveling north on South Bellwood Drive near its intersection with Airline Drive in Bethalto when the defendant entered her lane of traffic and caused a collision. 

Cox alleges she suffered severe and permanent injuries to her right leg, head, neck, back, shoulder and spine. 

The plaintiff alleges Watson failed to keep a proper lookout and failed to the yield right of way.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000, plus costs. 

She is represented by Bruce E. Mattea and William A. Boker III of The Mattea Law Firm in Collinsville.
