Motorist allegedly failed to yield, causing St. Clair County crash

Car accident 01

BELLEVILLE – A St. Clair County motorist and passenger allege another driver failed to yield and collided with the front of their vehicle.

Jerame M. Simmons and Chrissy L. Simmons filed a complaint on Feb. 27 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Andrew M. Maynard, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on July 31, 2017, they were in a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu traveling southbound on Illinois 3 near its intersection with Stolle Road in St. Clair County when the defendant made a left turn in front of the plaintiffs and collided with the front of their vehicle.

As a result, the plaintiffs allege they sustained injuries, incurred medical expenses and was deprived of earnings they might have been entitled.

The plaintiffs allege Maynard failed to maintain a careful lookout and failed to yield to the right of way.

The plaintiffs seek damages in an amount that is reasonable and equitable, plus costs of this action and any further relief the court may deem proper and just.

They are represented by Alvin C. Paulson of Alvin C. Paulson Attorney at Law in Belleville.
