BELLEVILLE – A Madison County woman alleges she tripped and fell while getting off of a plane at MidAmerica St. Louis Airport in Mascoutah.

Joan Rodney filed a complaint on Feb. 26 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Allegiant Air LLC and Airport Terminal Services Inc., alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 14, 2016, she was alighting an Allegiant aircraft when she tripped and fell.

Rodney claims she sustained severe and permanent injuries to her left leg and knee that resulted in pain and suffering, disfigurement, disability and medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to keep the boarding bridge clear and free from tripping hazards and failed to warn passengers of any danger.

The plaintiff seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus interest, costs and any further relief the court may deem just and proper.

She is represented by Robert P. Marcus of Kujawski Marcus LLC in O'Fallon.
