Man sues over Granite City crash

Car accident 42

EDWARDSVILLE – A driver is seeking more than $50,000 in damages over alleged injuries from a collision in Granite City.

Gary Dugan Sr. filed a complaint on Feb. 27 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Cameron Barnes, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 17, 2017, he was driving a motor vehicle northbound on Old Rock Road near its intersection with West Pontoon Road in Granite City when the defendant collided with his vehicle.

Dugan claims he sustained severe and permanent injuries, both externally and internally, resulting in great pain and anguish.

The plaintiff alleges Barnes failed to keep the vehicle under sufficient control, failed to maintain adequate lookout and failed to use evasive maneuvers to avoid a collision.

The plaintiff seeks damages in an amount greater than $50,000, plus costs of the action.

He is represented by Kenneth P. Beljanski and Jaye R. Lindsay of Brown & Brown LLP in Fairview Heights.
