Man alleges driver failed to keep proper lookout in I-55 crash

Car accident 41

EDWARDSVILLE – A motorist claims he was injured in a Troy collision on Interstate 55 caused by another driver's negligence.

Dallas Cleveland filed a complaint on Feb. 26 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Andrew Ahlers, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 10, 2016, he was driving a motor vehicle southbound on Interstate 55 at its intersection with state Route 162 in Troy when the defendant collided with his vehicle.

Cleveland claims he sustained injuries that prevented him from attending to his usual duties and was caused to suffer great pain and mental anguish.

The plaintiff alleges Ahlers negligently drove his vehicle at a speed greater than reasonable, failed to keep a proper lookout and failed to take evasive actions.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of no less than $50,000, plus costs of this action.

He is represented by Kenneth B. Beljanski and Jaye R. Lindsay of Brown & Brown LLP in Fairview Heights.
