Man alleges Distinctive Dermatology failed to timely diagnose cancer

BELLEVILLE – A man alleges his cancer was not timely diagnosed and treated by a physician and medical office.

John M. Thomas and Nancy Thomas filed a complaint on Feb. 16 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Susan L. Journagan MD and Distinctive Dermatology LTD, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege John Thomas' basal cell cancer went undetected and untreated. They claim this resulted in additional and substantial surgery.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek damages of no less than $50,000, plus costs of this action. 

They are represented by Joseph A. Bartholomew of Cook, Bartholomew, Shevlin & Cook LLP in Belleville.
