Motorist alleges man failed to yield in Cahokia crash

BELLEVILLE – A motorist alleges another driver failed to yield to the right of way and caused a collision in Cahokia.

Andrea Samudio filed a complaint on Feb. 20 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against James Hammond, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 26, 2016, she was driving a motor vehicle traveling westbound on Camp Jackson Road at its intersection with state Route 3 in Cahokia when Hammond negligently caused his vehicle to collide with her vehicle. 

Samudio alleges she suffered severe and permanent injuries resulting in pain and suffering, mental anguish and loss of capacity to attend to her usual duties as a result of the collision.

The plaintiff alleges Hammond failed to stop or yield to the right of way and drove without keeping a proper lookout.

The plaintiff seeks damages in an amount greater than $50,000, plus costs of this action.
