Lighthouse Casualty alleges it is owed more than $55,000 from Belleville woman

BELLEVILLE – An insurance company is suing a Belleville woman over damages from a collision in the city.

Lighthouse Casualty Co., as subrogee of Javon Smith and LaDonna Glasper, filed a complaint on Feb. 16 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Danielle R. Reid, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Smith and Glasper were injured on Feb. 17, 2016, when the defendant rear-ended Smith's vehicle in Belleville. Smith's vehicle was insured by the Lighthouse Casualty, the suit states.

The plaintiff became subrogated to the rights of the insured vehicle against the defendant, the suit states.

Lighthouse Casualty alleges Reid negligently operated her vehicle at a speed greater than reasonable and failed to keep proper lookout.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in the amount of $57,291.63 , plus costs expended herein.
