Man alleges distracted driver caused Alton collision

EDWARDSVILLE – A motorist alleges a distracted driver caused a crash in Alton.

Joshua W. Howard filed a complaint on Feb. 16 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Barbara K. Ferguson, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 15, 2016, he was driving his motor vehicle in Alton when the defendant negligently crashed into his vehicle. 

As a result, Howard claims he sustained injuries both internally and externally that resulted in great pain, mental anguish, lost earnings and medical expenses. 

The plaintiff alleges Ferguson negligently drove her vehicle while distracted, failed to maintain a careful lookout and failed to yield.

The plaintiff seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus costs of this action and all other relief that the court may deem appropriate.
