BELLEVILLE – A department store shopper alleges a fallen display sign caused her to fall.
Pamela Clark filed a complaint on Feb. 14 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against J.C. Penney Corp. Inc., alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Dec. 17, 2017, she was an invitee at the J.C. Penny store in St. Clair County when she slipped and fell on a sign that had fallen on the floor.

The plaintiff alleges J.C. Penney failed to provide a safe means of ingress and egress from the establishment and failed to warn its patrons of the hazardous condition.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of no less than $50,000, plus costs of this action.
