EDWARDSVILLE — A customer is suing Beasley Gas-N-Go Inc. in Wood River after he slipped and fell on oil in the parking lot.

Kevin Mosley filed a complaint on Feb. 7 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Beasley Gas-N-Go Inc., alleging it breached its duty to maintain its parking lot in a reasonable safe condition.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 29, 2016, he was a customer at the Beasley's Convenience Store, located at 579 N. Wood River Avenue, when he slipped on oil and fell.

As a result, Mosley alleges he sustained injuries to his right wrist and back, causing him to suffer disability and mental anguish.

The plaintiff alleges the defendant failed to timely remove oil and grease from the parking lot and failed to provide sufficient warning of the danger that existed on its property.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount in excess $50,000.

He is represented by Douglas Mendenhall and Laura A. Cole of Smith Mendenhall Selby & Cole in Alton.
