BELLEVILLE — A motorist is suing another driver for allegedly causing a rear-end collision on Green Mount Road.
Charles N. Stollard filed a complaint on Jan. 25 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Hannah Rutzinski, alleging she failed to exercise due care while operating a motor vehicle.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 29, 2016, he was driving a 2009 Honda Civic westbound on Green Mount Road. He claims he was stopped near its intersection with Frank Scott Parkway when the defendant struck the rear of his vehicle.
As a result, he claims he sustained permanent and progressive injuries to his neck and back and incurred medical expenses in excess of $50,000.
The plaintiff alleges Rutzinski negligently followed his vehicle too closely, failed to maintain a careful lookout and failed to use evasive actions to avoid colliding with plaintiff's vehicle.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages in excess of $50,000, plus any further relief that the court may deem just and proper.
He is represented by Mark R. Bates of The Bates Law Firm LLC in St. Louis.
