BELLEVILLE — A motorist alleges another driver struck her vehicle when she attempted to turn on Illinois Route 159 from Green Haven Road.
Jeanne Macainsh filed a complaint on Feb. 5 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Lance Richter, alleging he breached his duty to exercise reasonable care for the safety of others.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 26, 2017, she was driving a motor vehicle traveling eastbound and was stopped on Green Haven Road at its intersection with Illinois Route 159. As she attempted to turn left onto Illinois Route 159, she claims the defendant struck her vehicle.
As a result, Macainsh claims she sustained severe and painful injuries resulting in lost wages, disability and lost of enjoyment of life.
The plaintiff alleges Richter negligently disobeyed a traffic control devise, failed to keep proper lookout and failed to reduce speed, stop or swerve to avoid collision.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages in an amount in excess of $50,000, and all further relief as the court may deem just and proper.
