Motorist allegedly struck parked vehicle in Marissa while fleeing from police

BELLEVILLE – A man alleges he was injured when his parked vehicle was struck by another driver attempting to elude police.

Bruce Baker filed a complaint on Feb. 5 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against John Well,s alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 13, 2016, he was parked at the premises of 500 East Lyons in Marissa when the defendant struck his motor vehicle. 

As a result, he alleges he sustained bodily injuries and was caused to suffer disability and disfigurement, pain and suffering, loss of income and loss of normal life. 

The plaintiff alleges Wells negligently drove his motor vehicle in a reckless manner while attempting to flee and elude police and failed to maintain a proper lookout.

The plaintiff seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus costs of this action. 

He is represented by Kevin Boyne of Kevin Boyne PC in Belleville.
