BELLEVILLE – A guest at an O'Fallon hotel alleges she sustained injuries due to the presence of bed bugs.

Sheree T. Williams filed a complaint on Feb. 2 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Drury Hotels Co. LLC, alleging negligence and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 29, 2017, she was a guest at the defendant's hotel located in O'Fallon when she encountered bugs. She alleges she sustained severe and permanent injuries, scarring and incurred medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges Drury Hotels negligently failed to take proper precautions to avoid guests from becoming injured by insects, vermin and bed bugs and failed to reasonably care for and maintain its hotel rooms.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount of more than $50,000, plus cost of the suit.

She is represented by Shane M. Camine of Hassakis & Hassakis PC in Mount Vernon.
