Motorist alleges driver failed to maintain careful lookout in Granite City collision

EDWARDSVILLE – A woman alleges her neck, back and leg were injured when her vehicle was rear-ended while stopped for a train in Granite City.

Christine D. Dawson filed a complaint on Feb. 1 in the Madison County Circuit Court against David A. Fellner, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 14, 2016, she was driving a 2004 Toyota and was stopped for a train at a crossing on Route 162 in Granite City when Fellner suddenly struck the rear of her vehicle. 

As a result, she alleges she sustained severe and disabling injuries to her neck, back, leg and to the nerves, tissues and tendons. 

The plaintiff alleges Fellner failed to maintain a careful lookout and failed to take evasive actions to avoid the accident.

The plaintiff seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus costs of this action. 

She is represented by Mathew R. Chapman of Becker, Schroader & Chapman PC in Granite City.
