BELLEVILLE – A Collinsville man alleges two Sauget companies set the tension level too high on the lid of a chemical bin, causing him to sustain injuries.

Sean Dushane filed a complaint on Jan. 23 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Keeley Construction Inc. and Heritage, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 11, 2016, he was working as an employee of Eastman Chemical and was injured while attempting to close a chemical bin. He claims the defendants set the tension on the lids and that the tension level was too high, causing him to use an excessive amount of force to close the bin.

As a result, Dushane alleges he sustained injury to his right elbow and hand.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants carelessly failed to properly monitor the amount of tension applied to the chemical bin lids.

The plaintiff seeks judgment of more than $50,000 and costs of court.

He is represented by Charles J. Baricevic in Belleville.
