EDWARDSVILLE – A patron of an Edwardsville bar and grill alleges she required surgical intervention on her wrist after she slipped and fell.

Lori Owens filed a complaint on Jan. 24 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Olde Tyme Lounge of Edwardsville Inc., doing business as Laurie's Place, alleging premises liability and negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 25, 2016, she was having dinner at the defendant's restaurant. While walking to the restroom from her table, she alleges she slipped and fell on a slippery substance on the floor.

As a result, Owens claims she injured her left wrist, which required multiple surgical interventions.

The plaintiff alleges the defendant failed to inspect the common walkways and failed to provide adequate warning that a danger existed.

The plaintiff seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus costs of this action.

She is represented by Timothy J. Chartrand of Williamson, Webster, Falb & Glisson in Alton.
