HeplerBroom expands with three new partners in Edwardsville, Chicago offices

EDWARDSVILLE – HeplerBroom has elected three partners to join its Midwest litigation firm.

Tammera Banasek and Susan Wagener will work in the firm’s Chicago office while Elizabeth Kellett will practice out of the firm’s Edwardsville office, the law firm announced in a Jan. 10 press release.

Kellett is a litigation attorney with a focus on the defense of complex, multi-party civil cases and class actions. These include consumer fraud, personal injury and product liability, specifically with pharmaceuticals and medical devices.

Kellett previously practiced law in Washington, D.C. and is licensed to practice in Illinois, Missouri, the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern District of Missouri and the Northern and Southern Districts of Illinois. She earned her juris doctor from Georgetown University Law Center in 2006.

Banasek focuses her work in the field of professional and general liability cases. She concentrates her litigation on medical, dental and nursing homes. Banasek is also versed in AIDS litigation defense and product liability. She has published in medical and dental malpractice areas and frequently speaks on the subject.

Banasek earned her juris doctor from The John Marshall Law School in 1993 and is licensed to practice in the Illinois Supreme Court and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

Wagener concentrates her practice on medical malpractice defense, nursing home litigation, personal injury and health care professional licensure cases. Her experience also includes insurance defense litigation. Wagener has also published in malpractice risk management and disciplinary defense areas.

Wagener was previously a registered nurse and specialized in orthopedic and medical surgical nursing care. She is licensed to practice in the U.S. Supreme Court, the Illinois Supreme Court and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern District of Illinois. She earned her juris doctor from Marquette University Law School in 1985.
