EDWARDSVILLE – A motorist and passenger are suing an Alton woman for allegedly causing a Granite City collision.

Denova Candies and Deborah Haynes filed a complaint on Jan. 5 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Ashley E. Vitale, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on Jan. 22, 2017, Candies and Haynes were traveling south along Madison Avenue near its intersection with 20th Street in Granite City when the defendant struck their vehicle.

They allege they suffered injuries to their heads, necks, cervical spines, torsos and other parts of their bodies, both internally and externally.
