Woman alleges motorist caused New Athens collision

Car accident 34

BELLEVILLE – A St. Clair County woman alleges a motorist ignored a traffic control device and struck her vehicle in New Athens.

Joyce F. Eisenhour filed a complaint on Jan. 2 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Hanna M. Meyer, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 9, 2016, she was operating her 2000 Buick heading east on state Route 13 near its intersection with New Baldwin Road in New Athens when Meyer negligently entered the intersection and struck her vehicle.

Eisenhour claims she sustained injuries and was caused to suffer great pain, mental anguish and medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges Meyer failed to obey a traffic control device, failed to keep a careful lookout and failed to reduce speed to avoid a collision.

The plaintiff seeks damages of no less than $50,000, plus costs of the action and any other relief that the court may find just and proper.

She is represented by Alvin C. Paulson in Belleville.
