Woman sues Bamboo Valley restaurant over slip, fall

Slip02

BELLEVILLE – A diner at a Belleville restaurant claims she was injured when she slipped and fell because of ice and water on the floor.

Dorothy M. Turner filed a complaint on Dec. 21, in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Bamboo Valley Inc., alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 23, she was entering the Bamboo Valley restaurant in Belleville to purchase food when she slipped and fell on ice and water, injuring herself.

Turner claims she sustained injuries that prevented her from attending to her usual duties and affairs and incurred medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges Bamboo Valley failed to warn her of the dangerous condition that existed and allowed ice and water to accumulate on the floor.

The plaintiff seeks judgment in her favor for damages of more than $50,000, plus costs of this action.

She is represented by Philip R. Rice of Rice Law Offices LTD in Belleville.
