Semi crash 05

EDWARDSVILLE – More than $50,000 in damages are sought by a motorist injured when his vehicle was rear-ended by a tractor-trailer on Interstate 55.

William McKinney filed a complaint on Dec. 19 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Davis Bros. Inc. and John Doe No. 1, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Dec. 15, he was operating a motor vehicle northbound on I-55 when he was struck from the rear by the defendants' tractor-trailer. The plaintiff alleges he suffered internal bleeding and injuries to various parts of his body.

The plaintiff alleges John Doe negligently operated the tractor-trailer at an excessive rate of speed, failed to signal his approach and failed to keep a proper lookout.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus costs of this action and any other relief that is fair and reasonable.

He is represented by Craig Anthony Schlapprizzi of Donald L. Schlapprizzi PC in St. Louis.
