Man seeks more than $50,000 after collision at Belleville intersection

BELLEVILLE – A motorist is seeking more than $50,000 in damages after a collision in Belleville.

Christopher Bassett filed a complaint on Dec. 12 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Dandre Towns, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Bassett alleges that on Dec. 15, 2015, he was driving northbound on Frank Scott Parkway when his vehicle was struck near the intersection with state Route 161 by the defendant. 

As a result, Bassett claims he sustained physical injuries, mental anguish and incurred medical expenses. 

The plaintiff alleges Towns failed to yield to traffic, failed to obey a traffic signal and failed to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

The plaintiff seeks judgment in a sum of more than $50,000, plus costs expended.
