Man alleges he was assaulted by intoxicated man at Big Daddy's

EDWARDSVILLE – A man alleges he was assaulted at an Edwardsville establishment by an intoxicated patron.

Thomas J. Pittman filed a complaint on Dec. 8 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Bubbaslicerbond Inc., doing business as Big Daddy's Edwardsville, and Tyler A. Brauer, alleging negligence and violation of the Dram Shop Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 17 and 18, he was at Big Daddy's premises when he was struck and beaten down by Brauer during a fight in the area surrounding the outside bar and parking lot.

As a result, Pittman claims he suffered serious injuries and incurred medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to provide adequate security personnel or police officers to control defendant Brauer, failed to provide a safe place for patrons and failed to properly remove violent patrons.

The plaintiff seeks judgment for a sum of more than $50,000 and for costs of suit.

He is represented by Tess M. Perica of The Perica Law Firm PC in Wood River.
