BELLEVILLE — A home caretaker is suing her patient's son for allegedly attacking her and pointing a gun at her after she stopped his violent actions towards his mother.
Margaret Daugherty filed a complaint on Nov. 22 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Mark Wilder, alleging he intentionally pushed, punched and otherwise made unconsented contact with another person.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 25, 2015, she was visiting Milly Wilder's home when she was allegedly attacked by her son, Mark Wilder. Daugherty claims she stopped the defendant's violent actions towards his mother and then he turned his attention towards her. She also alleges that the defendant pulled out a gun and pointed it at her head.
As a result, Daugherty claim she suffered mental and physical injuries, loss of normal life and incurred medical expenses.
The plaintiff alleges Wilder attempted and threatened to inflict injury to others and was reasonably apprehensive of bodily harm and offensive contact.
The plaintiff seeks an award in excess of $50,000, plus any other relief the court deems appropriate.
