Slip01

BELLEVILLE – A Clinton County woman alleges that she was injured at a St. Clair County preschool after slipping on a wet floor.

Karla Sellers filed a complaint on Nov. 8 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Laugh and Learn Preschool Inc., alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges she went to the preschool to pick up her granddaughter on Jan. 27. As she was entering a room, she alleges she fell because of a wet floor.

Sellers claims she sustained serious injuries to her head, neck, right hand and arm and was caused to suffer lost wages, medical expenses and pain and suffering.

The plaintiff alleges the defendant failed to warn her of the existence of the dangerous condition and negligently left standing water on the floor.

The plaintiff seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus costs of court and any further relief as the court deems just and proper.

She is represented by Andrew G. Toennies of Lashly & Baer PC in St. Louis.
