Motorist sued over O'Fallon collision

Car accident 25

BELLEVILLE – Two individuals are seeking damages after a collision in O'Fallon.

David Severin and Katelyn Severin, formerly known as Katelyn June, filed a complaint on Nov. 17 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Killashandra Miller, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Dec. 3, 2015, they were in a vehicle traveling westbound on Highway 50 near its intersection with Dean Drive in O'Fallon when Miller caused her vehicle to collide with their vehicle.

The Severins claim they sustained severe and permanent injuries both internally and externally and have suffered great physical and mental pain.

The plaintiffs allege Miller failed to maintain proper control of the vehicle she was driving, failed to keep adequate lookout and failed to slow down, stop or swerve to avoid collision.

The plaintiffs seek damages of more than $50,000, plus costs of this action.

They are represented by Kenneth B. Beljanski and Jaye R. Lindsay of Brown & Brown LLP in Fairview Heights.
