EDWARDSVILLE – A woman alleges she was injured in the parking lot of a Breese supermarket after a driver backed into her cart while she was unloading groceries.
Lori Kratchmer filed a complaint on Nov. 15 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Melissa Ann Robinson, alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 20, 2015, she was shopping at Schuette Supervalu Market. While loading her groceries into the company vehicle in the parking lot, the defendant allegedly backed her vehicle out of the parking space and drove her vehicle into plaintiff's grocery cart embedding it into the vehicle while she was holding it.
She alleges she sustained injuries to her arms, hands, shoulders and neck.
The plaintiff alleges Robinson failed to maintain careful lookout, failed to give proper signal and improperly backed her vehicle.
The plaintiff seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus costs expended herein.
