Woman alleges Madison County jail employees gave her incorrect dose of medication

EDWARDSVILLE – A woman alleges she suffered seizures after she was given an incorrect dose of medication while at the Madison County Jail.

Aisha McLorn filed a complaint on Nov. 13 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Madison County Sheriff John Lakin and Madison County, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 18, 2016, she was an inmate at the Madison County Jail and received medications prescribed by and/or administered by the defendants' agents. She alleges she was given substantial overdoses of medication, causing seizures and hospitalization.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants' servants, agents and/or employees administered the wrong dose of a medication, failed to property review the medication administration record and failed to properly supervise staff.

The plaintiff seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus costs of this action.
